Tucked away in the lush greenery of the Andaman Islands, we walk to a slower pace of life. Where the gentle sea breeze and the soft rhythms of the sea are seldom far away. The Emerald Gecko offers an authentic glimpse of village life reminiscent of days gone by. A life full of simple pleasures where you can be one with nature and the best thing to do is ‘Nothing’ at all.
Please remember, our resorts are eco-friendly resort and therefore have limited facilities. We also take pride in being environmentally friendly and hence do not have air-conditioning, TV’s, Internet and telephones. We try and reduce the impact tourism causes on our little piece of paradise as much as we can. Therefore our Policy is against surplus usage of resources. Our property is rustic, made with organic material (bamboo mat walls, thatched roof) and open to nature.

Tucked away in a secluded easterly corner of Neil Island a few meters from Sitapur Beach, Emerald Gecko Neil Island is an ideal place for nature lovers and solitude seekers. At our Neil resort our guests can expect a taster of village style island life, without the glare of the television, the ringing of phones and the tapping of the keyboard.

The Neil resort consists of a total of only 10 tastefully decorated rooms constructed using sustainable organic materials by local craftsmen. Our rooms are located in a coconut grove and surrounded by lush dark contrast of the rain forest, the resort offers an ideal seclusion from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Located on the most popular tourist hangout area on Havelock and literally seconds from beach number 5, Emerald Gecko Havelock Island is an ideal place not only for relaxation, but its perfectly placed within walking distance from a variety of bars, restaurants and cafes.

These mini double storey cottages are located the closest to the shore and provide the best view of the sea. Each of these lockable huts can accommodate two people. Facilities include: attached shower (clean communal toilets nearby), fan, a comfortable bad and a small sit out. A cozy place to put your head down after a full day!
★ BAMBOO BUNGALOWS ★
Located on the most popular tourist hangout area on Havelock and literally seconds from beach number 5, Emerald Gecko Havelock Island is an ideal place not only for relaxation, but its perfectly placed within walking distance from a variety of bars, restaurants and cafes.
★ BAMBOO LODGES ★
The bamboo lodges are set among the palm fronds and are the probably the first of their kind in the world. Built with bamboo that has drifted from Burma, these split-level accommodations give you ample space. The top floor houses the bedroom with a study area and a spacious verandah over-looking the sea. At the ground level, the open-to-the-sky washrooms and the secure storage area give you plenty room to spread out. These rustic structures in this enchanting beach environment will inspire you to return to your roots!

About Emerald Gecko
Emerald Gecko – Havelock was opened in 2005. A real eco-resort which was largely constructed with bamboo rafts which floated all the way from Myanmar! We offer simple beach living Robinson Crusoe style…no frills but with all the necessities such as mosquito net, ceiling fans, outlets for charging, hot water by bucket self-service at the hot-water boiler, free Reverse Osmosis drinking water refills. NO A/C, NO TV!!! Our carbon footprint is small…help to reduce plastic!!
Emerald Gecko – Neil was opened in 2015. The accommodation and restaurant were built with loving care on the same principles as our Havelock resort. Here we use a mixture of bamboo and wood to keep things aesthetically organic. We are in love with Neil, as it still holds the serene “old-world” Andaman charm which is hard to find in this quickly changing environment.
